Quilters
Most of us have met and joined each other in quilting adventures by fate. It is truly a small world. Kari & Venita met at a sewing class at Quilt-n
Stitch. Kari and Janet had not seen each other As we came together each asked one other person to join our group and Mari and Joycelyn were added. Soon Joycelyn and Jeri discovered they had similar history in Montana. We now have 8 core members, enjoying friendships, sewing, knitting, appliqué, embroidery and quilting projects. We travel to alternate homes for each meeting, every other week. We have now donated
three large quilts to the Quilt Auction. |

DiversityThis donation for the 2006 Quilt Auction is a labor of love by 18 men and women gathering on their lunch hours for more than a year. These Port of Portland employees with the help of Erica Eichelberg, aviation project manager for the Port, and a quilter in her own right, transformed a design created by Mike Satern, senior print designer, into a quilt that displays diversity in the Port employees, the many people served in the region and the diversity in business lines and environmental work. A labor of love and an affirmation of diversity was a wonderful team-building and bonding experience for the department. Hand appliqued and hand quilted! |
